Pomegranate fruit is an important fruit species in human nutrition due to its rich biochemical content. In this study, organic acids (malic, citric, tartaric, succinic, oxalic and fumaric acid) and vitamin C contents of fruits of pomegranate genotypes grown in Çukurca (Hakkari) district were determined. Correlations between these biochemical contents were examined by basic component analysis and the statistical distributions of pomegranate genotypes in terms of bioactive contents were determined. The variation of in genotypes in terms of organic acid and vitamin C contents is explained as 44.73 % with two main components. When the organic acid contents in the study were evaluated, it was determined that the dominant acid was citric acid except for one genotype, followed by malic acid, fumaric acid, succinic acid, oxalic acid, and tartaric acid. Oxalic acid, malic acid, citric acid, succinic acid, fumaric acid, and tartaric acid contents of pomegranate fruit juices were determined to range from 0.02 to 0.59 g l-1 from 1.01 to 2.84 g l-1, from 1.92 to 7.84 g l-1, from 0.06 to 0.28 g l-1, 0.13 to 0.68 g l-1, 0.03 to 0.10 g l-1, respectively. In the study, 30HAK02 genotype (30.84 mg l-1) was found to contain higher vitamin C than other genotypes. © 2019, Centenary University. All rights reserved.en_US
