Özet
Pure and copper doped iron oxides (Fe2O3 :Cu) were prepared on soda-lime glass substrates using spray technique. XRD indicated that pure and copper doped films exhibited iron oxide rhombohedral hematite pure structure with full agreement with FTIR result. All prepared films showed a high absorption in the visible domain and the copper inclusion with an amount less than 6 at. % in the hematite lattice led to decreasing the transparency in that region. On the other hand, the conductivity type of Fe2O3 films was found to change partially from n to p depending on the Cu doping level. Electrochemical photocurrent test showed that: (i) pure iron oxide films presented an anodic photocurrent, while Cu doped films showed catholic photocurrent in full agreement with the Mott-Schottky analysis, (ii) the current intensity is Cu dependent and the maximum increasing current is obtained for a doping level of 4 at. %.
