Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnosis of patients aged 65 years and over in applying to physiotherapy hospitals and to make an evaluation in terms of primary health care delivery. Methods: Our study was carried out by retrospectively reviewing the electronic records of patients aged 65 years and over who applied to the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Hospital outpatient clinics between 01 January - 31 December 2016. Results: A total of 3920 patients were included in the study. Of these patients, 2392 (61%) were female and 1528 (39%) were male. According to the diagnoses of patients who received physiotherapy treatment, lumbar diseases were found to be the most common with 17% among physical therapy and rehabilitation diseases. Similarly, the rate of diagnosis with a knee disease was 15.8%, while this rate was 46.4% in all patients. Based on the groups defined in the physiotherapy and rehabilitation diagnosis groups list specified by the health practice communiqué, the rate of diagnosis of group A was 7.5% (n: 522), the rate of diagnosis of group B was 1.5% (n: 107), and the rate of diagnosis of group C was 22.5% (n: 1556). Conclusion: In primary health care provision, patients should be made aware of their skeletal system complaints. During this process, we think that it is important for family physicians to support the patients to struggle with pain, in terms of raising the quality of life of the patients in this age group.
