Objective: The main objective of this study is to determine the awareness among nursing students about seasonal influenza and pneumonia vaccination. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional and descriptive study was conducted among 331 students. The data of this study were collected through face to face interviews using a questionnaire created by the researchers based on the literature. In the evaluation of the data, numbers, percentages and chi-square test were used through SSPS package program. Findings: Of the students participated in the study, 80,7% were female first-grade students, 54,7% were low income, 54,7 % were living at “home“ (not at the dormitory or hostel), 45 % were perceiving their health as “good“. 90,9% of the students stated that they had not participated in a training on pneumonia previously; 94,9% of them reported that they had never attended an educational program about pneumonia. It was seen that 58 % of the students did not know that influenza and pneumonia vaccinations were free of charge for the elderly and those with chronic diseases. DİSCUSSİON: It was determined that the students who participated in this study have not received any education about seasonal influenza and pneumonia vaccination, but most of them considered it necessary for health personnel to have seasonal influenza vaccine. As it may cause serious complications and death in elderly patients and those with chronic diseases, it is thought that the awareness about this issue should be increased among nursing students by providing them with training during the nursing education programs on the importance of seasonal influenza and pneumonia.
