dc.description.abstractRuh sağlığı hastanelerinde çalışan hemşireler ile genel hastanelerde çalışan hemşirelerin depresyona ve depresyon hastalarına yönelik tutumlarını karşılaştırmayı amaçladık. Bakırköy Ruh Sağlığı Hastanesi’nden 70, Şişli Etfal Hastanesi’nden 30 olmak üzere 100 hemşireyle görüşme yapılmış, deneklere 111 sorudan oluşan bir anket uygulanmıştır. Bakırköy grubu depresyonu hastalık olarak değerlendirirken, Şişli grubu depresyonu hastalık olarak değil, zaman zaman herkesin içine düştüğü bir durum olarak değerlendirmiştir. Şişli grubu Bakırköy grubuna göre daha fazla oranda depresyonun sosyal sorunlar nedeniyle ortaya çıktığını düşünmektedir. İki grup depresyonu olan kişileri tehlikeli bulmamakta, depresyonu olan kişilere karşı sosyal mesafe koymamaktadır. İki grup depresyonun düzelebileceğini düşünmekte, ortam değişikliğinin depresyonun düzelmesine önemli katkılarda bulunabileceğini belirtmekte, sosyal sorunlar düzelmeden depresyonun düzelmeyeceğini ifade etmektedir. Şişli grubunun depresyonu hastalık olarak değil zaman zaman her insanın içine düştüğü bir durum olarak görmesi Şişli grubunun depresyonu olağanlaştırıcı tutumuyla ilişkili olabilir ve Şişli grubunun depresyonu tanıyamamasına yol açabilir. Bu sebeple Şişli grubunun depresyon konusunda bilgilendirici eğitim almasının uygun olabileceği düşünülmüştür.en_US
dc.description.abstractTo determine and compare mental health nurses’ and general hospital nurses’ beliefs and knowledge about the etiology and treatment of depression and their attitudes towards depressive patients. 70 nurses working in a mental health hospital and 30 nurses working in a general hospital were interviewed face to face with a questionnaire developed by Psyciatric Research and Education Center in Turkey. The attitudes of both groups were positive towards depresssion and depressive patients. But while mental health nurse group accepted depression as a disorder the general hospital nurse group did not consider depression as a disorder but rather as an emotional state everyone can fall into from time to time in their lives. General hospital nurse group thought that stressfull life events caused depression more than compared to mental heath nurse group. They bought considered depression as a treatable illness and they both thought that depression cannot be completely cured without resolving social problems. Non of the groups hold the opinion that people with depression were dangerous and they put less social distance towards depressive patients. Especially the general hospital nurse group did not consider depression as a disorder while considering schizophrenia as a mental disorder. This positive and accepting attitude might cause the general hospital nurse group to underrecognize depression. So this may indicate a need for a theorotical educational programme about depression for the general hospital nurse group.en_US
