dc.description.abstractBu araştırmanın amacı, öğrencilerin İngilizce derslerinde kod değiştirmeye ilişkin inançları ile öğrencilerin derse yönelik tutumları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmanın örneklemini Ankara'da bir devlet üniversitesindeki 587 (kız: 311, erkek: 276) öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Çalışmada, İngilizce dersine ilişkin kod değiştirme inançları verileri 2014-2015 öğretim yılı bahar döneminde geliştirilen Kod Değiştirmeye İlişkin İnançlar Ölçeği (Coşkun, 2016) ile toplanmıştır. Öğrencilerin İngilizce dersine yönelik tutumlarına ilişkin veriler ise Altunay (2004)'ın İngilizceye Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği aracılığıyla elde edilmiştir. Öğrencilerden toplanan veriler SPSS-15 istatistik programı ve LISREL paket programı aracılığıyla analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma bulgularına göre, öğrencilerin İngilizce dersinde kod değiştirmeye ilişkin inançlarının genel görünümünün olumlu ve öğrencilerin İngilizce dersine yönelik tutumlarının da orta düzeyde olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.Ayrıca, öğrencilerin sürecin açıklığına, etkililiğine ve dil becerilerinin kullanımına ilişkin kod değiştirmeye inançları ile bu derse yönelik tutumları arasında negatif yönde anlamlı, psikolojik faktörlere ilişkin kod değiştirme inançları ile bu derse yönelik tutumları arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı ilişki olduğu sonucu bulunmuştur.en_US
dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between the university preparatory school students’ code-switching beliefs in English classes and attitudes towards English. The sample of the research study is 587 students (female: 311, male: 276) at a state university in Ankara. In this study, data related to students’ code-switching beliefs in English classes were collected during the 2014-2015 academic year through the Scale of Code-switching Beliefs in English Classes (Coşkun, 2016). Data related to the students’ attitudes towards English were collected through the Scale of Attitudes towards English, originally developed by Altunay (2004). Data collected from the students were analyzed by using SPSS 15 and LISREL statistical programs. It was deduced form the findings of the study that the students’ code-switching beliefs in English classes were positive and students’ attitudes towards English classes were at moderate levels. Furthermore, it was found that there was a negative significant relationship between the students’ codeswitching beliefs regarding the clarity, the efficiency and the use of language skills and their attitudes towards English. In addition, there was a positive significant relationship between the students’ codeswitching beliefs regarding the psychological factors and their attitudes.en_US
