dc.description.abstractTürkiye’de halkbilimi ve etnoloji alanına getirdiği bilimsel ve akademik yenilikleri ile öne çıkan Sedat Veyis Örnek öğrenimini Almanya’da tamamlamış bir bilim insanıdır. Tübingen Eberhard Karls Üniversitesi Örnek’in Almanya macerasındaki ilk durağıdır. 1477 yılında kurulan Eberhard Karls Üniversitesi, Almanya’nın Baden-Württemberg eyaletine bağlı Tübingen şehrinde yer alır. Yaklaşık 86.000 nüfusa sahip olan Tübingen, tipik bir ortaçağ kentidir. Tübingen ayrıca Üniversitesi ile de kendinden sıkça söz ettiren önemli bir bilim merkezidir. Özellikle Felsefe Fakültesi ile Sosyal Bilimler alanında öne çıkmış olan Üniversite uluslararası üne sahiptir. Bu başarıda, geçmişten günümüze Fakülte bünyesinde hizmet veren Halkbilimi, Hindoloji ve Etnoloji gibi bölümlerin akademik kadrolarının da payı büyüktür. Söz konusu bilim insanlarının başında gelen isimlerden biri şüphesiz Örnek’in doktora tez danışmanı olan Helmuth von Glasenapp’tır. Rudi Paret ve Hermann Bausinger de o yılların önemli isimlerindendir. Ne var ki Örnek’in Almanya’da bulunduğu dönem ve Tübingen Eberhard Karls Üniversitesinde yapmış olduğu doktora çalışması bugüne kadar araştırılmamış bir alandır. Bu makale, Örnek’in Tübingen Eberhard Karls Üniversitesinde gerçekleştirmiş olduğu akademik faaliyetlerinin değerlendirilmesini kapsamaktadır. Bu bağlamda Tübingen Üniversitesi Arşiv belgelerinin incelenmesi çalışmanın odak noktasını teşkil etmektedir. Bu amaçla öncellikle araştırmanın tarihçesi ile ilgili bilgiler sunulacak, Tübingen şehri, üniversitesi ve ilgili akademik birimler tanıtıldıktan sonra Sedat Veyis Örnek’in çalışmalarına yer verilecektir.en_US
dc.description.abstractSedat Veyis Örnek, who has come to the fore with the scientific and academic innovations he introduced into the field of folklore and ethnology in Turkey, is a scientist who completed his edu- cation in Germany. The Tübingen Eberhard Karls University was Örnek’s first stay in Germany. Established in 1477, the university is located in the town of Tübingen, in the state of Baden-Würt- temberg, Germany. With an approximate population of 86.000, Tübingen is a typical medieval town. It is also an important center for academic studies which has made a distinguished name for itself with its university. Particularly the university enjoys an international prominence by the phi- losophic faculty and the social sciences. The faculty owes its success mainly to the academic staff of the Folklore, Indology and Ethnology Departments, who have served in the institution from past till present. One of the foremost academics from among those staff is undoubtedly Helmuth von Glasenapp, who is Örnek’s dissertation advisor. Rudi Paret and Hermann Bausinger are also among the authorities in those years. But Örnek’s stay period in Germany as well as his study at the Tübingen Eberhard Karls University has not been explored up until today. This article evaluates Örnek’s academic activities at the Tübingen Eberhard Karls University. So, examination of the documents of the university archive Tübingen is the focus of this study. To this purpose, the history of the research will be presented in the first place. Next, information will be given about the town of Tübingen, its university and relevant academic units. Finally, Sedat Veyis Örnek’s academic works will be introduced and evaluated.en_US
