dc.description.abstractBu çalışma Bay Henry Blount'un 1634 yılında Osmanlı Devletine yaptığı seyahati analiz etmektedir. Seyyah Blount seyahatnamesinde Osmanlı Devletinin, kurumları, insanları ve geleneklerinin objektif olarak sunulmasına önem vermiştir. Onun Türkiye hakkındaki dökümantasyonu önemli seyahat notlarını, bireysel gözlemlerini ve karşılaştığı olayları ve bu bağlamda Türk yaşam tarzının farklı yansımalarını içermektedir. Yazarın Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun kültür, dil, din, geleneklerini nesnel olarak sunma iddiası ve çabası nedeniyle seyahatnamesi 17. Yüzyıl Avrupasında büyük itibar görmüştür. Bu nedenle çalışması birçok Avrupa dillerine çevrilmiş ve uyarlanmıştıren_US
dc.description.abstractThis review analyses travel book of Sir Henry Blount into the Ottoman Empire in 1634. The author examines the creation of an objective description of Ottoman State, its institutions, subjects, tradition etc. His writings on Turkey are essentially travel books, personal records of journeys, of encounters, of incidents interspersed from time to time with discursive passage in which he offers his reflections on various aspects of Turkish life. Why was Blount so famous? The most probably reason is that in generally his attitudes were thoroughly out of accord with the commandly accepted opinions of seventeenth-century Europeen_US
