Özet
The purpose of this research is to determine the roles of primary education supervisors in training of candiate teachers on the job by assessing the opinions of candidate teachers and primary education supervisors. The population of the study covered the candidate teachers (totaly 297 teachers) in primary education schools located in Bolu and Duzce and primary education supervisors (35 supervisors) working in Bolu And Duzce Directorates of National Education as guides and supervisors. Sub-population of the research covered 221 teachers determined by Simple Random Sampling Method. The research was a quantitative, survey study. In the research the questionnaire developed by Akbas was used. In the first part of the questionnaire, there was personal information, in the second part, there were 48 items related to the supervisory and on the job training activities. Totally, 178 questionnaires (152 from teachers, 26 from supervisors) were taken into account and analyzed by SPSS 10.0 for Windows programme. In the analysis of the findings of the questionnaires as a whole, it can be concluded that candidate teachers have stated that supervisors haven't supported them sufficiently, whereas the supervisors have thought that they have realized their roles "sufficiently" and "very sufficiently". © EuroJournals Publishing, Inc. 2010.
