Research findings show that Azerbaijan is experiencing a crisis due to the pandemic, as in the whole world, and the tourism sector is one of the sectors affected by this crisis, especially due to the restriction of transportation.Öğe The mediating role of organizational cynicism in the relationship between workplace incivility and organizational silence(UIKTEN - ASSOC INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION & SCIENCE, 2021) Tutar, Hasan; Tuzcuoğlu, Ferruh; Sarkhanov, TeymurIn this study, the mediating role of organizational cynicism in the relationship between rudeness in the workplace and organizational silence was examined. The research is a quantitative research cross-sectional study. Research data were collected using a simple random sampling technique. Data analysis shows a significant and positive relationship between the participants' perceptions of rudeness in the workplace and organizational silence. It is understood that the perception of organizational cynicism also mediates this relationship. It was understood that the high perception of the workplace laziness of the participants caused the perception of organizational silence to be high.Öğe Problem areas of determining the sample size in qualitative research: A model proposal(Emerald Group Publishing Ltd, 2024) Tutar, Hasan; Şahin, Mehmet; Sarkhanov, TeymurPurposeThe lack of a definite standard for determining the sample size in qualitative research leaves the research process to the initiative of the researcher, and this situation overshadows the scientificity of the research. The primary purpose of this research is to propose a model by questioning the problem of determining the sample size, which is one of the essential issues in qualitative research. The fuzzy logic model is proposed to determine the sample size in qualitative research.Design/methodology/approachConsidering the structure of the problem in the present study, the proposed fuzzy logic model will benefit and contribute to the literature and practical applications. In this context, ten variables, namely scope of research, data quality, participant genuineness, duration of the interview, number of interviews, homogeneity, information strength, drilling ability, triangulation and research design, are used as inputs. A total of 20 different scenarios were created to demonstrate the applicability of the model proposed in the research and how the model works.FindingsThe authors reflected the results of each scenario in the table and showed the values for the sample size in qualitative studies in Table 4. The research results show that the proposed model's results are of a quality that will support the literature. The research findings show that it is possible to develop a model using the laws of fuzzy logic to determine the sample size in qualitative research.Originality/valueThe model developed in this research can contribute to the literature, and in any case, it can be argued that determining the sample volume is a much more effective and functional model than leaving it to the initiative of the researcher.Öğe Review on the Risks of Atypical Work in OECD Countries in the 1980-2020 Periods(Polissia National University, 2021) Tutar, Hasan; Akbulaev, Nurkhodzha; Sarkhanov, TeymurThe rapid change in working models establishes a new workforce structure and working systems. This situation creates the problem of unregistered employment and atypical work by individualising business dealing. Economic, social and technological developments, especially in the 1970s, have impacted working life worldwide, and atypical employment forms and working models have gradually replaced typical employment types. Being flexibile, it is aimed to adjust the working days and hours according to the demand differences and changes in the market, sustainability of the enterprises, increase in productivity and employment, and the establishment of the work and life balance of the employees. However, with the spread of flexibility practices over time and the intensification of atypical working styles, some losses have begun to occur in employees’ vested rights regarding working conditions. Informal work causes another problem, such as unorganised and irregular labour. The purpose of the study is to examine the problems caused by atypical work. The research used descriptive statistical method since it is convenient to follow the developments in a particular field and identify the factual situations. The authors have collected data from World Labour Organisation and OECD sources and analysed these collected data according to descriptive statistical techniques. Using the trend analysis method, the authors have analysed the workforce structure and union density change in the analysed period based on numerical data. The research has established that atypical work causes insufficient instrumentality and status problems in the study period and disorganisation of labour. Based on research results, it can be stated that such working models as teleworking, working from home, and atypical work may lead to various social and psychological problems in the future Copyright © The Author(s). Addressing a gap in the existing literature, this study aims to contribute significantly to understanding this relationship.Design/methodology/approachEmploying a descriptive statistical approach, this study utilizes GDP and per capita income as economic indicators and scientific data from WoS and SCOPUS databases, focusing on scientific document production and citations per document.FindingsThe analysis reveals a strong correlation between economic development and scientific performance within the BRICS nations during the specified period. It emphasizes the interdependence of economic progress and scientific prowess, underscoring that they cannot be considered independently.Research limitations/implicationsHowever, limitations exist, notably the reliance on specific databases that might not cover the entire scientific output and the inability to capture all factors influencing economic and scientific development.Originality/valueUnderstanding this interdependence has crucial originality. Policymakers and stakeholders in BRICS countries can leverage these insights to prioritize investments in human capital development and scientific research. This approach can foster sustainable economic growth by reducing reliance on natural resources.Öğe A study on the relationship between the disorganization of labor and precarization(Malque Publishing, 2023) Tutar, Hasan; Tuzcuoğlu, Ferruh; Sarkhanov, TeymurWorking relations have experienced significant changes in post-industrial societies compared to traditional periods. Today, atypical employment models shape the labor market, including flexible employment formats, outsourcing, and various agency work such as staffing. The part or full-time employment model not dependent on a specific employer, described as "precarization," is becoming widespread and is the primary focus of this study. With precarization, unionized and organized labor is replaced by precarious working models, including working styles, mobile jobs, flexible working hours, and fixed-term employment contracts. These changes are reshaping labor relations in many countries globally, especially under the pressure of neoliberal theses. Precarization has caused a significant decrease in unionized employees, especially since the 1970s, which continues today. As a result of de-unionization, a new precarious class of precarious is emerging. The primary purpose of this study is to show the effects of the strategy of disorganization of labor on the "precariat" class, which has been described in recent years as the new social class. This is an empirical study based on secondary data sources. The secondary sources' findings show that a relationship between "precarization" and "disorganization of labor" can be established. © 2023 The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA.Öğe Tracing management fashions in selected indices: A descriptive statistical study(Sciendo, 2022) Tutar, Hasan; Sarkhanov, TeymurBackground and purpose: Although management fashions have been discussed for nearly 30 years, a certain amount of time had to pass before the discussions were based on factual data. This research mainly aims to trace management approaches in some selected international indices over nearly half a century. In this study, the basic question of how the historical course of management fashions has developed has been answered by following the development course. Methods: The Descriptive Statistical method was preferred in the study because of its suitability to the subject's essence, the purpose of the research, and the research question's answer. The research was carried out based on the data collected about management trends by scanning the Web of Science and Scopus databases covering 1975-2020. Results: Management fashions follow rapid adoption, implementation, disappointment, and abandonment. Research results; show that the lack of knowledge and awareness of management fashions poses a significant waste of time and intellectual capital. This determination is crucial, especially for young researchers and new generation managers. Conclusion: In conclusion, it can be said that while new approaches that have tangible counterparts and can be grounded continue, approaches that do not have concrete counterparts disappear, causing a waste of time and mental effort.
