Although several medical treatment alternatives have been developed, surgical management still provides the most successful clinical outcome. Trans-urethral prostate resection (TUR-P) is accepted as the gold standard in the management of BPH. However, in considering the relatively high rate of morbidity of TUR-P, several minimally invasive surgical treatment alternatives have been developed.
