"Düzce Orman İşletme Müdürlüğü Ormanlarının Lepidoptera Türleri" adlı bu tez çalışması, Düzce Orman İşletme Müdürlüğü ormanlarında yaşayan Lepidoptera faunasının belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Orman ağaçlarında zararlı olan bu türler de ayrıca belirtilmiştir. Düzce' nin Lepidoptera faunasını belirlemek amacıyla daha önce yapılmış herhangi bir çalışmaya rastlanmamıştır. Fauna tespit çalışmalarının amacı, yakalanan türlerin teşhisini yapmak, sistematikteki yerini belirlemek, yayılış alanını ve konukçularını saptamaktır. Çalışmanın ilk aşaması olarak öncelikle Lepidoptera takımı ile ilgili kaynaklar taranmış ve gerekli bilgiler toplanmıştır. İkinci aşamada ise arazi çalışmalarının yürütüleceği yerler belirlenmiş ve örnek toplama işlemlerine başlanmıştır. Arazide kelebeklerin yakalanmasında farklı teknikler kullanılmış, ve yakalanan kelebekler laboratuvara getirilerek, teşhis için gerekli olan preparasyon işlemlerinden geçirilmiştir. Teşhislerin yapılmasında konuyla ilgili kaynaklardan yararlanılmıştır. Özellikle kelebeklerin morfolojik karakteristiklerine göre teşhisler yapılmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu yöntemle teşhisi yapılamayan kelebekler ise genital preparatlan kullanılarak teşhis edilmiştir. IIIYapılan bu çalışma sonucunda, Düzce Orman İşletme Müdürlüğü ormanlarında yaşayan Lepidoptera takımına ait 17 familyadan 109 tür tespit edilmiştir. Bu türler Düzce Lepidoptera faunası için yeni kayıttır. Bu türlerden 25'i çeşitli orman ağaçlarında önemli derecede zarar yapmaktadır veya yapma potansiyeline sahiptir. This study titled "The Lepidoptera Fauna of Düzce District Forest Directorate" was conducted to determine the Lepidoptera fauna of Düzce province. The harmful species among collected species were also notified. There was no previous study to determine the Lepidoptera fauna of Duzce in the literature. The objectives of the faunustic studies are to identify species, to determine the area of distribution and to find the host plant species of them. At the first stage of this study, the literature related to Lepidoptera was reviewed and necessary information was collected. At the second stage, the study areas were determined and sampling of Lepidopteran was started. In the field, different collection methods were used while catching the Lepidopteran specimens. After that, the specimens were taken into laboratory and passed thorough some preparation procedures for identification. For identification, the related literatures were used. Most of the identifications were made according to the morphological characteristics of the Lepidoptera. The specimens, which were not able to identify by using morphological characteristics, were identified by using their genital preparations.With this study, 109 species belonging to 17 different families of Lepidoptera were identified in Düzce District Forest Directorate. These species are new records for Lepidoptera fauna of Düzce. Of these, 25 species are considered to be harmful to some forest trees.
