Özet
Tularemia is a disease caused by Francisella tularensis, an aerobic, non-capsulated, gram-negative coccobacillus. The common routes of infection are through the bites of mosquitoes, horseflies, and other insects such as ticks, or through contact with infected animals (rabbits, muskrats, birds, beavers). Occasionally, inhalation of infected dust or consumption of infected food or contaminated water has been found responsible.1,2 Transmission of the disease via bites or scratches by cats, coyotes, and squirrels has also been reported.3
