Özet
Echinococcosis is an insidious hydatid disease, with infestation sites mainly in the liver and lungs but also in the kidney. This retrospective study reviews the diagnosis of and therapy for echinococcosis in 13 patients between 1982 and 1998. Although there are a variety of treatment options available, surgery (nephrectomy, partial nephrectomy, cyst excision) was the choice for all 13 patients. The merits of marsupialization and cyst evacuation are also discussed.
