THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS’ PERCEPTION OF SOCIAL EXCHANGE, ABSORPTIVE CAPACITY, AND PSYCHOLOGICAL CONTRACT

Özet

The aim of this study is to determine the relation\ramong school administrators’ perception of social exchange,\rabsorptive capacity, and psychological contract. School\radministrators’ views have been analyzed by demographics\rvariables. The population of the study is 249 school administrators\rworking in primary, secondary and high schools in Bolu in 2018-\r2019 academic year. Social Exchange Scale that developed by\rShore, Tetrick, Lynch & Barksdale (2006) and adapted to Turkish\rby Karagonlar, Öztürk & Özmen (2016) was used. The Absorptive\rCapacity Scale and the School Administrators’ Psychological\rContract Perception Scale developed by Demirer (2019) were used.\rIt is found that school administrators’ gender has significant effect\ron social exchange. School administrators’ position has significant\reffect on school administrators’ levels of absorptive capacity. Also\rschool administrators’ position, age and seniority have significant\reffect on psychological contract. According to the results, it is found\rthat social exchange, absorptive capacity, and psychological\rcontract have positive, statistically significant and medium level\rrelationship.\r
