Özet
If they are not managed with proper treatment and rehabilita-
tion, full thickness burns involving the inguinal region may
result in contractures. They cause severe static and dynamic
problems such as restricted range of motion, postural
imbalance, and walking disturbance. Radical excision of all
contracting bands and scar tissue is crucial for treatment.
Consequently, it creates a skin and soft tissue defect in
inguinal region.
The ALT has gained great popularity among reconstructive
surgeons recently [1–6]. The widespread use of the ALT flap is
attributable to the following characteristics: basically reliable
anatomy, the possibility of obtaining a long pedicle, the
pliability of the flap and the lack of significant donor site
morbidity [1,7,8].
There is no literature regarding the use of the ALT flap for
reconstruction of soft tissue defects in the inguinal region
after postburn contracture release. This article presents our
recent experience with the use of pedicled ALT flap for
reconstruction of soft tissue defects after the release of burn
inguinal contractures
