Özet
The purpose of this study was to investigate pre-service elementary school classroom and mathematics teachers' interpretations about the definition of the angle concept. Participants were 217 pre-service teachers, 124 of whom were pre-service elementary school mathematics teachers, and 93 of whom were pre-service elementary school classroom teachers. Data was collected by a questionnaire that has items related to angle concept at the fall semester of 2010-2011. Data analysis revealed that it was not clear for pre-service teachers whether an angle should be seen as a construction made up only by two line segments or by two rays. Moreover, some of the pre-service teachers were not able to determine the points forming the angle. While some of them chose the points which are exterior of the angle, some of them did not choose the vertex of the angle.
