Özet
Lider, örgüt amaçlarını gerçekleştirmede yeni yapı ve süreçleri başlatan, izleyenleri ikna edebilen ve etkileyebilen kişidir. Lider yöneticinin iyi bir eğitim almasının yanında birtakım özelliklere de sahip olması gerekir. Liderin kişisel gücünü artıran bazı özellikler arasında, vizyon, görev duygusu, karakter sağlamlığı, yeterlilik, güvenilirlik, doğruluk, dürüstlük, iletişim yeteneği, ikna edicilik ve cesaret yer almaktadır. Liderlik yapabilmek için liderlik özelliklerinin çoğuna sahip olmak gereklidir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, lise müdürlerinin liderlik özelliklerine sahip olma derecelerim belirlemektir. Araştırmanın evrenini 2003-2004 eğitim ve öğretim yılında Bolu il merkezinde bulunan 14 lise ve bu liselerde görev yapan 506 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini ise bu liselerde görev yapan 214 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak "Etkili Liderlerin Nitelikleri Ölçeği" kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen veriler kodlanarak bilgisayar programına kaydedilmiş ve daha sonra bu veriler analiz edilmiştir. Analize hazır hale getirilen veriler, yüzde, frekans, aritmetik ortalama, t-testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi ve tukey HSD teknikleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Ölçme aracının "Cronbach Alpha" güvenirlik katsayısı .90 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Analiz sonucunda öğrenim durumu değişkenine göre, öğretmenlerin görüşleri arasında .05 düzeyinde anlamlı bir fark bulunmuştur. Öğretmenlerin görüşlerinde cinsiyet, kıdem ve branş değişkenlerine göre ise anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır.
Leader is the person who initiates the new structure and process to actualize the organization objectives, who persuades and affects his/her employers. A leader administrator needs to have some qualifications in addition to his/her educational background. The administrators' vision, sense of mission, personal integrity, self-efficacy, trustworthiness, honesty, self-confidence, communication skills,persuasiveness, and courage can be counted among his/her personality traits that increase his/her power. In order to be leader, a person needs to have most of these characteristics. The aim of this study is to examine to what extent the high school administrators have these characteristics. The population of this study consists of the teachers (n= 506) who were teaching at 14 different high schools in the city center of Bolu during the 2003-2004 academic term. 214 teachers, who were teaching at these high schools, formed the sampling of this study. During the study, the instrument "The Qualifications of Effective Leaders" was used. The data collected were encoded and these data were analyzed. During the study, percentages, frequencies, mean scores, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and tukey HSD techniques were used. The Cronbach's Alpha value of this study was found to be .90. As result of the analysis of this study significant differences were found at .05 level according to teachers' educational background. When their perceptions were analyzed, no significant differences were found among teachers' perceptions in terms of their gender, length of service, and branches.
