Özet

The aim of the present study is to investigate the opinions of academicians and preservice teachers about summer schools. The academicians (n=13) and preservice teachers (n=18) formed the study group. The data were collected by means of interviews in the summer semester of 2010 2011 academic year. To analyze the data, content analysis technique was used. Some of the findings revealed that summer school was not an advantage for students who had lower incomes; it could be considered as an opportunity for university students; the preservice teachers have positive opinions about making new friends; there was no difference between the summer semester and fall and spring semesters.
