Lesions in this type of skin metastasis are usually seen as suprapubic nodules. Here, we presented two cases with skin metastases of prostate cancer characterized by grouped cutaneous and subcutaneous nodules.Öğe Farklı dikim aralığı ve kültür bakım yöntemlerinin dar yapraklı dişbudağı (Fraxinus angustifolia vahl.) gelişimine etkileri(2007) Çiçek, Emrah; Yilmaz, Murat; Eşen, Derya; Kulaç, Şemsettin; Çetin, Bilal; Çiçek, Nurten-Öğe Intravenous Thrombolytic Therapy for Acute Ischemic Stroke:Experiences of a Tertiary Hospital in Turkey(2021) Yilmaz, Murat; Teker, Handan; Yener, Merve Önerli; Gültekin, Edip; Ögün, Muhammed NurObjective: The aim of this study is to retrospectively collect the data of 95 patients with ischemic stroke who received intravenous (IV) tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) therapy between 2015 and 2019 in our clinic, to present the experiences of our clinic. Method: The data of the patients, who applied to our clinic with the diagnosis of acute ischemic stroke between 2015 and 2019, who received thrombolytic therapy, were reviewed retrospectively. General socio-demographic data, clinical features, National Institute Health Scale Scores (NIHSS), Alberta Stroke Program Early Computed Tomography (ASPECT) scores, symptom-to-door, door-to-needle, and symptom-to-needle times, treatment-related complications and Modified Rankin Scores (mRS) at the third month after treatment were evaluated. Results: Procedure-related major or minor bleeding complications developed in 18% of our patients who received tPA therapy. The mortality rate was 15% and 6.3% of these were caused by cerebral hemorrhage due to treatment complications and 8.7% were due to other systemic complications. Logistic regression analysis revealed that only the ASPECT score from factors that we found to be effective on the risk of developing complications was a highly effective factor in the development of complications (p=0.034, OR: 2.131). Conclusions: This study has shown that our results are generally compatible with the literature. Although there is an increase in the number of patients receiving tPA in our clinic every year, we aim to increase awareness of this therapy clinically and to expand the use of IV thrombolytic therapy in selected patients.Öğe Relationship between intracellular pathogens Toxoplasma gondii and Borreliaburgdorferi infections and migraine(2021) Yilmaz, Murat; Yilmaz, Ayşen Tuğba Canbaşoğlu; Teker, Handan; Türkoğlu, Şule Aydin; Yildiz, SerpilAim: In this study, the serological values of our patients followed up with a diagnosis of migraine were compared with the results of healthy controls in terms of possible association with intracellular pathogens, Toxoplasma gondii and Borrelia burgdorferi. Methods: Fifty patients with migraine, randomly selected among migraine patients without any additional disease, who applied to Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal Training and Research Hospital between January 1, 2015 and August 31, 2019 were included in the study. Fifty subjects without headache were included as control group. The history of infectious diseases of the patient and control groups (Toxoplasma gondii, Borrelia burgdorferi- causing Lyme disease) was determined by serological diagnostic methods. Results: The study group consisted of 64 women with a mean age of 45.5±13.1 (15-76) years. Migraine and control groups were found to be similar in terms of age (p=0.059) and gender (p=0.211) distributions. The frequency of Toxoplasma gondii positivity in the migraine group was 28% (n=14) and 10% (n=5) in the control group. The frequency of Lyme was 19.6% (n=11) in the migraine group and 14.3% (n=8) in the control group. The frequency of Toxoplasma gondii positivity was statistically significantly higher in the migraine group (p=0.022), while the frequency of Lyme was found to be similar in the migraine and control groups (p=0.450). Conclusion: The results of our study suggest that there are statistically significant differences between migraine and control groups only in terms of Toxoplasma gondii positivity rates, not Lyme. However, we believe that larger sample studies are needed to determine the detailed relationship between migraine and Toxoplasma gondii infection.
