Öğe Acute volvulus of the right colon: a case report(Elsevier Science Bv, 2009) Hasdemir, Ahmet Oguz; Kordon, Ozgur; Cakmaz, Ridvan; Turkeli, Vildan; Col, CavitAcute volvulus of the right colon is an uncommon cause of intestinal obstruction and is rarely diagnosed correctly at the time of presentation. The aim of the study is to discuss the clinical features and management volvulus of right colon. We report a case in an 81-year-old man was referred from a primary care centre with a four-day history of abdominal pain, distension and vomiting. He had undergone left inguinal hernioraphy for incarseration before 5 days. An emergency laparotomy was performed. The caecum was grossly distended with several areas of gangrene, and lay in the left side of the abdomen in operation. Right colon had rotated in a counter-clockwise rotation. An extended right hemicolectomy was subsequently performed. The operative management of volvulus of the right colon remains controversial. A review of the literature, it appears that right hemicolectomy is the treatment of choice for volvulus of the right colon, as it avoids all risk of recurrence and mortality is lower than that obtained with conservative treatment.Öğe ENTEROVESICAL FISTULA SECONDARY TO CROHN'S DISEASE MIMICKING BLADDER TUMOR(Aves, 2006) Kandirali, Engin; Sengul, Neriman; Akkoc, Ali; Turkeli, Vildan; Semercioz, Atilla; Metin, AhmetIntroduction: Although most fistulas in Crohn's disease are perianal or enterocutaneous, a small portion involves the bladder and urinary system. We describe enterovesical fistulas in a patient with Crohn's disease that presented exclusively as urinary symptoms mimicking bladder tumor. A 55 years-old man presented with lower urinary tract symptoms to our clinic. Ulrasonographic examination showed a normal upper urinary tract and 4 cm papillary bladder tumor. TUR-T was performed and an enterovesical fistula was noticed during operation. Patient underwent abdominal exploration and partial resection of the ileum, ileostomy, and primary bladder repair was performed. Urologic manifestations must be recognized of fistulizing Crohn's disease and urologist should be aware that Crohn's disease may involve the bladder as inflammatory tumor.Öğe Intra-abdominal lymphangiomyomatosis(Aves, 2006) Turkeli, Vildan; Sengul, Neriman; Senocak, Efsun; Erkol, HayriLymphangiomyomatosis (LAM) is a rare idiopathic disease characterized by hamartomatous smooth muscle proliferation of the lymph nodes, lymphatics, blood vessels as well as airways within the lung, mediastinum and abdomen. Extrapulmonary LAM is quite rare. We represent a case of retroperitoneal lymhangioma in a young man as the only radiological finding of LAM.
