Öğe Fuzzy MCDM framework for locating a nuclear power plant in Turkey(Elsevier Sci Ltd, 2014) Erol, İsmail; Sencer, Safiye; Özmen, Aslı; Searcy, CoryTurkey has recently initiated a project to revise its nuclear policy. The revised nuclear energy policy considers searching for possible alternative locations for future nuclear power plants in Turkey. At the most basic level, the public cannot accurately evaluate whether it is willing to support nuclear energy unless it has an idea about where the power plants are likely to be located. It is argued that the selection of a facility location is a multi-criteria decision-making problem including both quantitative and qualitative criteria. In this research, given the multi-criteria nature of the nuclear facility location selection problem, a new decision tool is proposed to rank the alternative nuclear power plant sites in Turkey. The proposed tool is based on fuzzy Entropy and t norm based fuzzy compromise programming to deal with the vagueness of human judgments. Finally, a discussion and some concluding remarks are provided. (C) 2013 Elsevier Ltd. It can be argued that it is not easy to reduce all dimensions of sustainable supply chain to a single unit. Then, the issue is that all valuations should somehow be reducible to a single one-dimensional standard. Multi-criteria evaluation introduces a framework to remedy this issue. As a consequence, multi-criteria evaluation seems to supply a proper and adequate assessment framework for sustainable supply chain assessment. In this study, a multi-criteria framework based on fuzzy entropy and fuzzy multi-attribute utility (FMAUT) is proposed in order to evaluate and compare the company performances in terms of sustainable supply chain. However, note that reducing all aspects of sustainable supply chain to a single unit using a multi-criteria framework may not be sufficient to satisfy all the needs of decision makers although it is used to evaluate sustainability performance of supply chains with respect to three aspects. Therefore, in this research, an alert management system is also developed to satisfy further requirements of users. The proposed frameworks are tested using data obtained from one of the middle sized Turkish grocery retailers. (C) 2011 Elsevier ay. The study is oriented on agent based and database systems with model driven approach (MDA) which provides arrangement of data within a multi-agent system by letting filter with query based learning which supports the decision mechanism within the system. It uses the similarity measure on maximum entropy approach, which is often to find out interesting and meaningful patterns from databases. At the same time, it may generate a variety of rules, such as classification rules, throughout to learning rules of the query based learning process.
