To date, data are limited on associations of primary breast carcinoma (PBC) and benign proliferative breast disease (BPBD) with preoperative NLR values. Materials and Methods: Our study covered of 120 female patients with PBC and 50 with BPBD. Diagnostic values of NLR were estimated using sensitivity, specificity and areas under receiver operating characteristic curves (AUC). Results: NLR values were significantly higher in the PBC patients than in those with BPBD, with an AUC of 0.668 in the PBC case. The optimal cut-off for NLR was 2.96 and this was validated in the testing set, giving a sensitivity and a specificity of 79.7% and 76.2%, respectively, in PBC patients. Conclusions: Preoperative high NLR is a significant diagnostic predictor of distinction of breast cancer from BPBD and elevated NLR is also an important prognostic marker for primary invasive breast cancer.Öğe The first case of myxoinflammatory fibroblastic sarcoma affecting the maxillary bone(Qassim University, College of Medicine, 2022) Boran, Çetin; Kilitçi, Asuman; Ahsen, Hilal; Yılmaz, FahriMyxoinflammatory fibroblastic sarcoma (MIFS) is rare and malignant soft-tissue neoplasms that typically present in the extremities. In the literature, MIFS has been reported in the groin, back, neck, nose, and temporal regions in addition to the extremities. We report a case of MIFS presenting with the complaints of nasal bleeding, purulent nasal discharge, and swelling on the right side of his face. Polypoid tissues protruded from the middle meatus were observed and initial diagnosis was inverted papilloma. The painless tumor was initially mistaken for low-grade myxofibrosarcoma in biopsy. Maxillectomy was performed and made the rare diagnosis of MIFS. Fibroblastic proliferation with extensive local spread from subcutaneous tissue to the epithelium of the maxillary sinus mucosa, maxillary bone, and especially along the bone marrow was observed. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first reported case of MIFS involving the maxillary bone.Öğe Inflammatory polyp of the gallbladder containing intestinal metaplasia(Springer, 2013) Yılmaz, Fahri; Kilitçi, Asuman; Şengül, NerimanÖğe A rare case of large cell lung carcinoma with gastric metastasis(2015) Yılmaz, Bülent; Can, Güray; Poşul, Emrah; Kar, Özlem Kurt; Yüksel, Coşkun; Boran, Çetin; Kilitçi, AsumanLung cancer (LC) is the leading reason of death from cancer the world-wide. It is usually silent, and about %50 have extra-thoracic metastasis the initial diagnosis.Öğe Tetany with hypomagnesemia, hypokalemia, and hypocalcemia as initial presentation of celiac disease(Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2018) Poşul, Emrah; Can, Güray; Tekelioğlu, Vildan; Yılmaz, Bülent; Korkmaz, Uğur; Özyalvaçlı, Gülzade; Kilitçi, Asuman; Kurt, MevlütCeliac disease is a systemic immune-mediated disorder that occurs after the ingestion of gluten in genetically susceptible individuals. It is caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. The illness is often accompanied by extraintestinal complications including osteopenia to osteoporosis. Tetany, a very rare existing feature of celiac disease, is caused by severe hypocalcemia as a result of intestinal calcium malabsorption. Hypomagnesemia may be seen in the setting of diarrhea, malabsorption, and steatorrhea. Clinical features include neuromuscular hyperexcitability (tremor, tetany, seizures) and arrhythmias that are often due to accompanying hypokalemia, hypomagnesemia, and hypocalcemia. We aimed to represent a case of celiac disease with tetany as initial presentation.Öğe Tumour-to-tumour metastasis : warthin tumour as a recipient of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (SCC)(Springer, 2015) Boran, Çetin; Kilitçi, Asuman
