    Impact of energy management systems, pro-environmental energy consumption, and awareness on performance outcomes: A serial mediated-moderated modeling with PLS-SEM

    Energy consumption efficiency is gaining momentum due to climate change, increased carbon emissions by firms, and paucity of fossil fuels. Energy management systems (EMS) and environmental awareness came into the spotlight few decades ago and are said to improve energy efficiency of firms. The purpose of this paper is to unveil the association and serial mediation between EMS and firm performance through pro-environmental energy consumption (PEC) and pro-environmental energy consumption performance (PECP), and the moderating role of environmental awareness (EA). The obtained data from industrial Turkish firms (n = 189) were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) technique. Results revealed that (1) EMS exerts a significant impact on PEC, (2) EMS impact on PECP is not significant, (3) PEC exerts a significant impact on PECP, (4) PECP exerts a significant impact on firm performance, (5) PEC and PECP serially mediated the association between EMS and firm performance, and (6) EA moderated the association between EMS and PECP, such that the association became stronger when EA is high compare to when it is low. Implications for theory and practice are discussed alongside future research directions.

    Relationship between open innovation decision-making and behavioural strategy

    The aim of this study was to investigate how decision-making styles affect open innovation in the hospitality industry and whether behavioural strategies have any impact on this relationship. Survey data from 204 managers were analysed using the PLS-SEM method. The results demonstrate the effects of rational and intuitive decision-making styles on open innovation. It was observed that managers with either rational or intuitive decision-making styles were more likely to engage in open innovation. In contrast, objective decision making has an adverse impact on open innovation. Furthermore, most managers opt for the anticipation strategy in behavioural decision making. The relationship between decision-making styles and open innovation was not moderate by any other behavioural decision-making tendencies. The study eventually provides implications for the literature and practice.

    TURİZM SEKTÖRÜNDE AÇIK İNOVASYONUN ÖNEMİ VE SAĞLAYACAĞI FAYDALAR

    Değişen çevresel koşullar nedeniyle işletmelerin inovasyonu hem iç hem de dışsüreçler yardımıyla oluşturması gerekli hale gelmiştir. Açık inovasyonda yer alanbu dış süreçler; firmanın rekabet içinde olduğu diğer firmalar, tedarikçiler ve kitlekaynak kullanımı ile ortak bilgi ve teknoloji paylaşımı şeklinde olabileceği gibi,firma olarak oluşturacakları ortak bir platfom aracılığı ile müşterilerinin inovasyonönerilerini toplamaları şeklinde de gerçekleştirilebilir. Firmalar bu sayede hem dışinovasyon kaynaklarını kullanarak, hem de kendi inovasyon imkanlarını başkafirmalar ile paylaşarak çok daha etkin şekilde yeni ürün ve hizmetlergeliştirebilmektedirler.Bu çerçevede hazırlanan çalışmada, turizm sektörü için inovasyonun önemi vezorluğu açıklandıktan sonra açık inovasyon kavramı ele alınmakta ve gelenekselinovasyon yaklaşımıyla farklılaştığı noktalara yer verilmektedir. Çalışmada ayrıcaturizm sektöründe bazı açık inovasyon uygulamaları ele alınarak açık inovasyonunturizm sektörü için önemi ile sağlayacağı fırsat ve faydalar değerlendirilmektedir.
